My 79 malibu has got me insane. Changed rear wheel cylinders rear brake lines and rubber hose and tight pedal with car off then when car is on pedal goes to floor. Changed master cylinder same thing. Basically all I have is front brakes. Any help on fixing the spongy pedal? Thanks any help is greatly appreciated. I'm new to this and its my first project.

Sounds like you got alot of air in your lines, make sure you bleed your brakes really well............with having changed that many things all at one time..........you let alot of air get into your system. If you have one person pump brake bleeder.......make sure you pump and pump until all the bubbles are gone and only fluid comes out. You might have to do both sides a couple times, and BE SURE to keep an eye on your master cylinder area and keep it full of brake fluid, so it doesnt pull air in from the front of the system.

yeah and that will help eliminate most of the air from the get go
