brights dont work??

im not sure which of the fuses it would be because my fuse box is kinda faded... i really doubt both headlights are bad..one looks new.. if its not that..what could it be... both the headlights just shut off when i click it to brights
 
You won't find a fuse for the headlights in the fuse box, there isn't one.

My first guess would be the dimmer switch went bad.
 
It's not too bad if you're a contortionist. Or, you could drop the steering column down. It's under the dash area on top of the steering column. Just follow the little rod that comes out of the column and it will end up hooking into a small electrical box. That's it. If your dimmer switch is on the turn signal that is. You didn't specify what model g-body you have. They might not all be the same.
 
it is a 78 el camino.. my bad..can i pick up a dimmer switch at a local parts store?
