There is a guy here in Niagara Falls that dose it and might be able to help ya out. http://www.littlebroscarsales.com/
Its a used car place and my understanding is he has a Ford dealership in the US and brings cars and trucks over often.

ive had a few friends do it, never any troubles.. there is a good place in langley that will inspect and pass just about anything to get REGI here. 😀

thanx for the replies..i have looked at the riv stuff but since the car is older than 15 yrs it is exempt so im guessing i will have to pay duty and then a gst when i regi it, my bud bought a 59 impala project car in the u.s. for a 1,000..then when he was at the border they dinged him 1,600 in duty  ..not sure how they came up with that #, thats all im worried about, reasonable price on the car but cant afford too much extra. i wonder what the deal would be if the owner drove it to this side of the border..i realize i will still have to do the saftey inspection but i wonder how the duty thing works out
thanx

You have to import the vehicle when bringing it across or it can be siezed at the border if you ever try to take it back on trip. It isn't a big deal and does not cost anything to do. You have to get a copy of the title from the seller and fax it to the border crossing export office on the U.S side that you plan to use. This has to be done at least 72 hours before you show up with the car. Make sure you check the hours of the office too because some of them are not open on weekends 😳 I got burned on that one  . When bringing the car over you go to the office first, then to the border, and then to Canada customs and you pay tax or duty based on the bill of sale for the vehicle. I did it a few years ago and it was worth it to me that everything is totally legal and I will never have any problems with the border or selling the car at anytime.

my problem is im not allowed into the u.s...lol(ridiculous really), ive been trying to figure out how to make it work before the car gets sold..not a huge deal if i dont get it as i have a decent ride already but id sure love to have a manual tran car..im hoping the owner can drive it across i give him the $$ and i get the title and car and deal with customs in the next month or so when i save up more $$..i wonder if any repurcusions for the owner doing that way, my main concern is getting the car and put into my buds shop for storage
thanx

I have heard it is more difficult to register the vehicle after it has crossed the border without proper importing but not impossible. You would be better to get a buddy or hire someone to do it for you to avoid headaches later.
It would not be difficult for the seller to do either.
