Right front fender.

Not to shabby for a 31 yr old Northern Ontario car!

Found reciepts for front end work, new rad, all new brakes, and exhaust done a monthe before I bought it...been at the exs for a yr and a half tho.

Interior is pretty good, just dirty.

Oh yeah, never been repainted before...the dealership sticker is still on the trunk where the guys mother bought it new.

That is all!

You don't see too many '81's. That front end has always reminded me of the '77 TA's too.

Good looking project. I am a big fan of the '81 nose too.

I'd like to get it running in the next couple of days, what's the best way to do that....change all the fluids first?....It has maybe a gallon or two of 1 1/2 yr old gas, but the preservative stuff was put in when it was parked. Any ideas? Think I'm just gonna get it running, back on the road...new paint, then maybe next year drop a 305 in it.

Hey RJay63, Love your Lemans, looks a lot like mine when I got it. With a little paint and cleaning it will look great. I notice you have 2 chrome mirrors on it, could you post or pm a couple of close-up shots of them. I also have 2 chrome mirrors but they are heavily pitted and need replacing but every time I try looking and parts books or in resto catalogs, I am always told that I have the wrong ones. I beleive they are original to the car and if yours are the same, this would prove my point.

Btw some fresh gas and fluids are probably all you need if the car was running fine 1 1/2 years ago.

I'm sure you don't want mirrors like this....bought it from my redneck friend "Chicken", he got it from his Ma!

Sweet car bro looks nice and straight. I can't believe how clean that trunk looks. I would empty the gas tank. New fuel filter. Full the tank and add a bottle of seafoam . Change the oil, new plugs new wires, and change your cap and rotor.

The driver door mirror is the same but the pass is completely different. While all visual evidence from when I painted my Lemans indicates that the passenger mirror has been there for a long time, maybe it was added ages ago.
Thanks for the pics
Dean
