A guy has a rearend 4 sale,8.5 10 bolt,he says came out of Grand National,it has factory rear disk brakes??He pulled the rotors off to replace them and lost them and I've looked everywhere and kind find no replacement rotors for it anywhere.Did they manufacture these and what would I measure from to make sure this rearend will fit my G-Body??The rear has a stamp of JV82,can't find nothing on it,so I'm asking you if you can help?

To the best of my knowledge, there were never any A/G body cars that were factory equipped with rear disc brakes (although alot of people wish there were!). That's probably why you can't find a listing for replacement rear rotors. Is it possible that the seller might have a rear axle from a mid '90s GM B body (Caprice, Impala SS, Roadmaster), which could have the factory rear disc brakes? As I recall, the B bodies also used an 8 1/2" ring gear in the rear axle, and would have used similiar rear suspension to the A/G body cars. I don't think that the B body and A/G body axles are interchangeable though, mainly due to the B body axle being wider than the A/G body axle. If you're looking for rear disc brakes for your car, you might be further ahead to try the aftermarket for a rear disc conversion kit. Just my $0.02 worth anyway.

I agree with clean, there wasn't a 4-wheel disc option on the G's.

In looking at the pics I think if it is a factory setup it came from a B-Body Buick Roadmaster, not a G-Body Regal/GN/T-Type/GNX.

I don't like the fact that there aren't any clear shots of the brake mounting areas, the bottom of the center section, no mention of the lug pattern (4-3/4" for G or 5" for B), what calipers/rotors fit this. And by the post it says the unit is setup for a GN/SS for disc brakes.

Happy hunting.

its most likely a f body 1le rear setup...... pictures?? i could tell you if you had a pic. the gn never had a rear disc rear. that is one of the biggest flaws on the gn is the brakes, they suck for as fast as it is
