Yeup, the common malady of the G body, the bumper fillers. They have long ago crumbled in the Buick. Recently got around to looking at a new set. They're pretty pricey, but they say they're made from ABS plastic and are weather proof.

I think I remember reading somewhere that someone had deleted the fillers entirely. Has anyone on here done this? I'm sure it would require modification to the bumper mounting brackets, probably shortening them.

I replaced mine w/fiberglass ones - paid $208 for the set and very happy with them.

I'd recommend fiberglass over ABS. ABS is brittle and will eventually crack, whereas fiberglass has some integrity from the fiber mat and will be more durable in the long-run.

I think I agree with the fiberglass, although I'm not sure if I have found a set for the 82-84 4 doors yet.

Aren't they the same as the '80 2 door?
