I'm doing the C5 Corvette brake swap on my Cutlass. The only thing is I hate how small the rear calipers are so Im going to buy another set of front calipers to use on the rear. I have read about & seen this mod done on Corvettes before but never on a g-body. If anyone have any information on how to do this mod please post links, pics, or info! Thanks!

i will have to look into that and try to help ya figure it out... but y dont you like the size of the caliper... lot of engineering went into them and since the proportioning of the rear brakes are different than the front, you may not get any more benefit at all from making them bigger (unless your doing this for cosmetics, which is cool)... the brakes have to lock up before the front, so that you dont have problems driving around

Is there any write ups floatin around with info for that brake swap? Sounds like a good idea..

Have you looked into this any?

I just like the look of the front calipers more than the rear ones. It looks nice on the Vettes & i think it will look nice on my Cutlass. Im going to get a adjustable proportioning valve to turn down the pressure going to the rear calipers some so it will be very close to the factory ratio.

I ordered my brackets from Ed Miller & we talked about it a little. He is going to look into it & try to get me a set of brackets made up for this mod. Once he get back with me & let me know if he can do it I will let you guys know.

Read the whole thread, but pay close attention to post #7 from a very smart, scientific, and brake-experienced man.

C5/C6 fronts on the rear of a car seems like superficial fluff to me. Apply the KISS principle and get results with less hassle.
