Camshaft

Hi, I have a 79' Cutlass with a Chev 350.
Im trying to find out what cam I have in the engine.
I have the engine on a stand.
Are there marking on the end of the cam if I pull off the Balancer and timing cover? or
do I have to take off the timing gear in order to see the marking on the end of the cam?

It's not likely that you will find any useful markings on the cam. Your best bet is to get a degree wheel and follow the directions.
