can i still use the computer on the a/c?

i am putting a sbc in my 86 cutlass and i was curious if i can still leave the computer hooked up to the a/c or do i need to do something different? what is the best way in your opinion that i should go about this? thanks

The computer uses the throttle position sensor on the CCC carb to determine when to disconnect the A/C compressor at W.O.T. No throttle position sensor, no A/C compressor clutch control.
