I heard that car covers promote rust because when the water evaporates it getts trapped under the cover and sits on your car. Makes sense to me, but has anyone else heard of or experienced this?

you have to buy a high quality car cover that can breathe. so the answer is yes, it is true with a cheap tarp like cover. And no with the correct high end cover.

also, in the winter the humidity level is low and the water is frozen--it doesn't form condensate. it's really the thaw cycles where you have to worry, and early spring.

I dont care how much you pay for cover . Even the No mar lining will wear the paint when frozen in in wind.

They get ice on or under and move and the damage is done. I tried 5 or 6 over the year no luck . And for cost off some I can get a single metal roof carport installed cheap . And they hold lots o snow. Can be moved when needed

I got 20 ft by 20 for $799
