car wont start, suggestions?

Bought a new battery saturday, drove it once since then. Got in today, interior lights came on, turned key, starter clicked once. My guess is a loose pos. Cable on starter or maybe, just maybe, the wire that comes off. The neg terminal and grounds on my pass. Fender, its not the battery cable but a 10ga. Wire that goes to the fender, not sure what its for but its there. Pouring down today so thats why I haven't checked it yet. Suggestions? Oh, car is a 78 Camino 305

Yup, sounds like the body ground(10 g wire) that comes from the batt to the fender is loose and not making a good connection. Mine did the same thing when I changed my batt. Make sure it is tight under the terminal.

Got it fixed, bad grounds. ..scuffed up contacts, good as new
