Agreed on the valve covers....i have went back and forth on putting some on my sbc, but hell i can get new carpet, boom mat and headliner redone for the same price when i have new valve covers sitting ready to be put on a fresh motor.
The wheel wells are sick but like you, i have hours spent on smoothing mine out to get rid of all the stupid nubs that i don't need anymore.

Years back i bought a sheet of real carbon fiber with 3m backing that i did my gauge cluster and all interior trim pieces with. Took time as usual but turned out sweet.

Yea i really couldn't justify cutting up a 600$ wheel well for a downpipe. plus unsure on how much heat it can handle.

Thats actually a really good idea. What was the cost of the sheet, and how/what did you use to cut it?
If i recall i think the sheet was around $60 and was about 18"x24" or so. I use a pair of very sharp scissors for the outline and a xacto knife for the detail cuts....time has to be taken because you are actually cutting through the fibers which are strong as hell!!! I usually make cardboard templates then transfer that to the carbon fiber so that i don't screw up and waste the material!
