Hello all, My name is Ryan and I'm from Easley SC (Greenville area/Upstate) ... I just bought a Malibu Wagon this week (Was going to start a 3rd Gen F-body until I saw the Wagon) and had the idea of swapping the 350 and 700r4 out of my '92 Suburban ... The idea is to use a set of stock 041 heads, Cam, Intake, And a small 4 barrel so it will be a fun little car to run around in ...

Also, Is there anywhere I can find the trim that goes around the back windows? ...

welcome, and not really the only trim parts for these things are used parts

Welcome to the forum. It looks like a nice score as it already has a set of Chevy Rallys on it and the body appears straight and devoid of major rust. I would check the typical frame rot place behind the back wheels though, as well as the whole underside seeing as it has been sitting in wet leaves. As for trim parts, pretty much nothing is reproduced for G bodies at this time. So, it's either scrounging up good used ones in a junkyard, repairing and restoring what you have, or expensive NO$ stuff. There are places that can restore the "bright" anodized aluminum parts for you, or you can do it yourself. However, the weatherstripping is almost all available reproduction, and nice interior parts are not too hard to come by as there are still a number of good 4 doors that show up in junkyards, and the doors should be the same as a 4 door.

well 85 cutlass brougham was right for the most part but here is a little correction. The rear doors are specific for the wagon, as a 4dr rear doors will not swap over (window frames are different). Also the weather stripping for the doors can been found online but nobody repop's the ones for the top of the tailgate and around the rear glass

I went by earlier today and got s'more pictures of the wagon ...

Here's the ratty blue interior with the idiot light dash ... Atleast I have a split bench so buckets will be an easy swap ... I need to get 2 drivers door hinges because the old ones are worn out ...

Some ******* used bathroom tub and tile caulk on the windshield ...

The worst spot of rust on the whole car (Aside from the bumper) ...

I'm going to try and clean up the rear window trim, Hopefully it'll all clean up and can be glued back ...

The rear hatch/tailgate rubber is in good condition so I'm safe there ...

I think I'm going to shave the rack and leave the chrome strips ... Or put a strip where the rack bolts on ...

I was referring to the interior panels, not the actual doors themselves... but I may be wrong there too.

Welcome! I'd rather have a wagon than a F-body too!

To chime in on what was mentioned above, it's just the tops of the doors that are different, so door panels will interchange, but weatherstripping, door glass and vent windows will be wagon specific.

As for the trim around your 1/4 glass, you might as well pull that junk off and throw it away. Find a '78-'81 wagon and get the aluminum trim for the 1/4's. You'll never find decent vinyl mouldings from an '82-'83...

Sure is a clean lookin wagon you've got there!
