Carrier spline count

I know that in my Regal with 2.41 gears I have a 2 series carrier open dif with a 26 axle spline count. I am planning on upgrading to a 2 series posi carrier with thick 3.42 gears, however, it seems that 3 series carriers are just more plentiful.

Can you change the spline count of a 3 series carrier (28 splines) to a 26 slpine count, or is my only choice to get new axles?

you would have to change the carrier to reuse the 26 spline but at that point its cheaper to change the axles.

Where are you located? I have a set of 28 spline axles i could sell.

I think the s-10 or the camaro axles are 28 spline and the same length but Im not sure.

Thanks for the reply, I will just stick with the 26 spline for now and add the thick gears. In the future though, i'll keep my eyes open for a 2 series posi that I could swap out.
