does anyone know if there are fakes of these rims? and how to tell the difference? I have found a used set and don't want to buy a cheap set for a expensive price! or does the only thing differ is having the name brand vs no-name?

yes, there are several replica versions of these wheels.
the easiest way to tell, authentic Center Line wheels usually have a "Center Line" stamped beside the lug-nut holes.

other ways to tell the difference...

- authentic Center Line wheels are in-set (offset inwards) on three planes. The outer flat plane with rivet heads, then a slope in into another flat area with lug-nut holes.
- replica versions are often flat or have different inward slopes
- replica versions often have different style rivet heads, and they are slightly closer to the center of the wheel

here's a picture of fake ones

they are often not this obvious

hope this helps

thanks for the tips and info! the set i am looking at is a knock off set... but i think i might still go with them, just because there is such a price difference and im not going for the $50, 000 resto job right now lol!

also! the set i am looking at is missing the center caps? if i got the true center line, center caps would they fit? and look decent? or would they not fit or just stick out as not right??

The biggest difference is that Centerline wheels are forged aluminum.
The knock offs are cast aluminum.

this I don't know...
the Center Lines have almost a hubcentric center hole, where as alot of the knock-offs usually have much larger center holes.
I think you could achieve the same look with generic center caps from summit, etc...

true centerlines being forged would make sense! they are defiantly better built then.. well now i'm stuck on the fence... hahaha maybe I shouldn't cheap out! i guess when does cheaping out every pay back.. always seems to kick you in the a** later on
