I have a 81 regal and plan on swapping them out before I get my wheels aligned. (have a lot of play) but does anyone know if the idler arm has to be pressed out or use a special tool? like some pitman arms? same goes for the connection on the centerlink? thanks. also I plan on using moog's anyone have any feedback on them? thanks

Moog is the best in my opinion. There is a tool to easily remove the idler and tie rods. Works just like a Pitman arm puller, just smaller. Smashing them with a big hammer is not the way to do it.

smacking them with a hammer always works for me, especially if youre replacing them anyway.

I used to think so too....

its not bad, 2 nuts hold it to the frame, one nut holds it to the center link

There should be a hole in the frame opposite the idler arm bolts. I was able to use a socket on an extension to reach through and engage them. But if you knock the socket off, as I did, you will need an extendable magnet to get it out. Lots of fun.
