When the g-body frame is bare...are they all identical or are they all different? What I mean by this is could you put a monte frame under a cutlass or a cutlass frame under a GN, and so on and so forth.

For the most part they are all the same, but there are exceptions.

Generally speaking, coupes and sedans have the same frames.
Some cars have longer front frame horns, ahead of the core support mounts, depending on the front sheet metal. These are easy to modify to your needs.

Station wagons are different in the rear frame horns, with different body mounts, and space to accomodate the side filling fuel tank.

El Camino's are 11" longer in wheelbase, so those are in a league of their own, unless you want to cut the frame and section it down... The rear rails are different on them as well.

How different are the cutlass, monte carlo, regal and GN frames?

also depends on the year

Well I ask because my dad has an 87' cutlass salon, I got a guy locally selling a monte carlo frame pretty cheap. My dad wants to buy it and clean it up and strengthen it, then swap it with his. I wanted to know if they are similar enough to go in without much fabrications.

what year is the Monte frame? I believe 84 and newer is an exact match .... 78-83 the driver's side of the fram lacks the 2nd set of trans Xmember holes for the 200-4r, but this is easily overcome.
