Talking 2 doors only not wagons or Caminos

What works with the Pontiac LeMans 2 door?

I know the Malibu is a Malibu only due to the shorter frame horns

But what about the LeMans?

Any one have any ideas or know if the chassis from an 81-88 Monte will fit without mods?

Thanks

I thought I came across the same p/n used for the Monte, LeMans, & Grand Prix last time this question was asked involving Malibus.

Yes I believe a Monte will work on a LeMans without modification.

But before I do anything I would like to confirm this.

Can't say anything yet

Don't want to jinx anything!!!!!

But i will say 78-81

My research on the web showed all G body 2 door, 4 door and wagon frames were the same, the exception being the wagon is notched for the fuel tank on the driver's side rear frame rail.

El Caminos have a longer wheelbase so they're in their own dealio.

I'd be interested in hearing more about this to correct that if I'm wrong. ...

Malibu's definitely have shorter front frame horns

I will look tonight in my crash books, send me a PM to remind me.

FWIW, the sedans/coupes have different holes in them for body mounts than the wagons

Hollander says Malibu, Lemans, Century are interchanges

Interesting. I wonder what would make Cutlass different? I was under the impression that the only difference there was that the wagon has an extra body mount on top of the rear frame rail that is solid and doesn't have a bolt through it. I heard that the GN is the only other frame set up this way. Hmmmm. I bought an eneergy Suspension body mount kit for my wagon, everything fit great. That was several years ago, gotta look it up to see if there was a wagon specific part number.

I've got the popcorn bag in the microwave, very interested in learning more here.
