I'm a T Bucket owner who bought a '79 Olds Cutlass last year. The plan was to use it as a daily driver, but the damn thing has grown on me. I have plans to restore or hop it up. My budget will decide which path I take.

It's got the weak 4.3 V8, so that's probably where I'll spend my first installment of time and money. Being purchased from an elderly person, the body and interior are in good shape. No dents, but I'm pretty sure the half vinyl top has rust underneath it. My first clue to rust was a small puddle of water in the back floor area, after a hard rain.

I've always been a hot rodder and finally built my T Bucket 8 years ago. While it was cool as my daily transportation, it wasn't practical. So, enter the Cutlass. I owned a diesel Cutlass in '85 and it had a SBC conversion done to it. Will I follow that path? Time will tell.

Most people I know just drop in a 350 Olds all the brackets and everything
Match up nice easy swap get it running again quick I've seen it done by about 6 people I know over the years 68-76 have stronger blocks 77-80 they cheapend up the bottom ends.
