This morning I started my car and for some reason it wouldnt stay started... So I popped the hood and examined the carb... On start up it would idle for 5 seconds then shut off. Everything on the carb looked perfectly fine execept the choke pull off switch. The lever that engages the choke to push in wasnt pushing. As if theres supposed to be a spring to help engage the choke to push in.. So I started the car and manually pushed in the choke and the car stayed started... Now if Im right then somehow this spring thats on the choke assembly mysteriously popped off and I need to buy another. Is this correct?

If you are talking about the vacuum operated pull off, I don't think there is a spring. I am not sure how that is supposed to operate, but I am assuming if the vacuum canister is bad, it may cause your problem. Try hooking a vacuum pump to it and see if it will hold any vacuum.
