After breaking in my cam and getting all of my leaks taken care of, I have to change the oil. Im not sure what kind of oil to chose after reading all of these flat tappet cam failure stories. Is it ok if I kept running the Comp Cams Break-In Oil forever? It has everything my cam needs.

I'm running Mobil-1 10W30 in all of my cars.

My suggestion is to use Rotella 15W40 diesel motor oil. It has more of the additives needed for a flat tappet cam.

The best advice you can find on engine oil is going to be at http://www.bobistheoilguy.com. I had the same question last month and they knew exactly what I needed. Those guys there are absolutely obsessed with oil and oil analysis, and filters etc. no exageration.

I believe the Rotella have joined the rest as far as zinc, it just took longer being for diesels.

Brad Penn oil has everything you need.

Brad Penn 10-w-30.........has the zinc in it and it's kinda cool with it's green color 🙂

X3 on Brad Penn
