Trying to get my car ready for paint, and can't figure out how to get the plastic tabs off that hold on the chrome trim at the bottom of the doors. What should I do? Thanks

You might break that 25 year old plastic, I'd just tape it off.

you need to take the end metal clips off first i think. then from there you can slide it off. then the you can take the clips off the door. i just threw out a bunch of them too! whatever you do, do not tape if off if you are going to paint. take you time and do it the right way.

It's up to you but I would just get rid of them all together. It looks like yours pop in. When you take them off they will probably break. It's like the damn door panel clips. You could delete the chrome and then weld up the holes or fiberglass them. If you plan on putting the chrome back, you might have to buy new clips.

i took my chrome off and it looks to me like its one of those deals where you snap it in, and you have to break it to get it off. thats how my front fender clips were
