For the love of god what is this world coming to. All 3 major companies have taken such a turn for the worse to the point where chrysler is joining in with a crap made Italian company (along with chevy cancelling pontiac). I guess my 71' roadrunner and other mopars are going to go up in value as well as the pontiacs.

Well, Fiat is one of Europe's largest auto manufacturers and does have several decent models today. It also owns Alfa Romeo (which is crap), Lancia (also crap) and Ferrari (expensive crap). However, They do make the 500 which is a variant of the very capable Panda chassis that also underpins the hideous MiTo. I like the 500 though, it's kind of an iPod of a car. The dash looks like it was designed by Apple...lol

Fiat actually has become one of the better brands of the Italian car companies within the last 5-10 years they have had some huge improvements with the last guy that is in charge. But last I heard they are not heart set on the Chrysler deal, sounds like to me Fiat wants a chunk of GM if they end up in bankruptcy court

Fiat is actually interested in GM's Opel and is buying a stake in it. As for Chrysler, they were going to do a technological partnership and not share ownership.

ah makes sense now if scania would just buy back saab then that would take care of another problem for GM

I'm just hoping we don't see a Dodge Fiat car on any chrysler dealerships anytime soon. Supposedly they wanted to own the vast majority of Chrysler, but its just a rumor spreading through the media. As far as saab goes, those cars haven't changed one bit in the past three decades as far as styling lol. I remember back when the rumor of GM and Chrysler merging went around. Man people were up in arms over that.
