close-up picture taking advice

ive noticed alot pictures taken of close-up objects that mostly come out blurry. to get abetter close-up shot of whatever on your digital camera, press the button that looks like a flower. after that press the picture taking button half way so the camera can focus on its new found object and then press all the way and you'll have something like these:

yeah if i could afford a nice digital camera i would remember that, but all the pictures in my gallery were taken with my LG triton phone... :blam:
 
Lol my camera took a dump awhile ago. I have been using my LG dare for a bit... It doesn't take pics as good as my regular camera but i will eventually buy a decent camera. any suggestions?? Keep it under a buck and a half and maybe i will pick it up. 😀 I'm cheap....
