I'm changing my springs, and wanted to replace the coil spring insulator. I wasn't sure whether to go with poly or rubber? Any recommendations, and why?

I was also on energy suspension web site, and they only had the rear upper insulators. Will the upper work on the bottom, and will they work on the front? Does anyone know? I tried looking up different G-Body’s and years, but they all just had the upper rears.

I believe they only go on the top. When i changed my springs, they were only on the top of the springs. The fronts didn't have them.

They only used them in the top to keep vibration and noise out of the passenger compartment. The bottom did not use them because the control arm bushings isolated the noise/vibrations.

If you want a firm ride, go with the poly ones. If you want a softer ride go with the regular rubber ones.

I had the factory rubber ones on top of all 4 springs. They are getting a little old but are still in fairly good shape so I just kept them. It's a little more of a pain to keep the insulator on top of the spring when your replacing the front ones. As far as the back, it's really easy once you get the car on jack stands and un-bolt the shocks from the bottom of the axle housing, the rear end drops enough for the springs to just be taken right out.

Duct tape keeps the insulator on the spring pretty good 😀
