Any tips on getting the front coil springs back in on a 80 elco Bare frame. All new control arms and springs .I have almost worn out a new impact wrench trying to compress the spring enough. Using the center bolt spring compressor. Any tips welcome.

Get one of these:

O'Reilly's & Advance have these for loaners. I got mine from O'Reilly's. They even got me a new one cause I was going to keep it. They are woth it.

Bare frames are tough. The weight of the motor and body makes it so much easier.

How handy are you? A couple 4X4's (one on top of the frame, one under the jack, bolted solidly with some 2X4's or 2X6's tieing them together to make a rectangle box, could allow you to jack up the lower A-arm into place.

Attaching the shock would keep the spring captive during the entire process.

Pretty much what I got only mine has 4 hooks. Gonna ditch 2 hooks and run the bolt through the shock hole and try that. Pulling up and moving the jack up at the same time. Think I just need 2 more hands. lol.

I had a 4 hook set & it didn't have enough threads to do it safely on a bare frame. I had to het some thread all just to use them. I picked up the other set & made it easier to put everything back together.

Did you go down through the shock mount hole and pull up?
