So my Malibu was converted from a floor shift to a column shift before I bought it and the shifter has very little tension on it maybe the spring is broken or missing. Any help would be great.

very little tension on the lever, and as to why someone made it a column shift I have no idea. But I kinda like having like it cause I can have cup holders haha.

Their is a spring inside, when my wagon was still column shift it was kind of loose. The spring is probably worn out or maybe its missing, you can pop the lever off and look inside to see if the spring is even in their.

I think in a metropolitan area the column shift works out much better paralell parking
i dont get your logic? ive paralell parked all sorts of vehicles and having a column shift, floor shift, manual, or push button automatic, tiny compacts to LMTV's, and everything in between, its all the same. unless you dont have a back window, then its a lil different.
