Hey Gbody Family....
Is it just me...or do computers make ya feel less productive? My company, a fortune 500 company that sells autoparts throughtout the country and mexico....has the worst computer system ive ever used. When it works, its fantastic, and its very helpful and productive....but when it doesnt, it just makes me feel like a moron. Im old enough to remember when companies used computers for invoicing only, and inventory was kept manually. If ya needed something, ya made a phone call. But most of the time, ya had the part on the shelf because the building was big enough to store all the parts ya needed and the inventory was stocked to a level to last at least a week. But now, with the new computer systems, our inventory is in constant motion, never allowed to stay in one place for too long. So, you spend most of the time keeping it straight, instead of selling parts. I guess Im just getting too old for the new methods....

That is how I feel at work. I can look up how many shoes, hats, shirts etc we have in stock at any given time in under a minute. I work for an Adidas Outlet, and believe me, our computer system is user friendly and wonderful. But is it quick, and more importantly reliable? NO. Literally every day there is some sort of problem most time minor, some times major. About a month ago,we couldn't process debit, credit, or check payments. Most customers are patient and understand technical difficulties, however some don't seem to care. Honestly it's embarrassing, but as sales associates there isn't much we can do. What can I do? Nothing. I guess Adidas Corporate must have to see a loss in sales to justify needing all new equipment. But that is the world we live in, computers are great...when they work.
