my first cutlass got up, and it only had a 307 and a th350. one day i ran into the dude who owned it before me(i bought it at a tow yard) and he said he had put a performance chip in it, which would explain why it was so quick. however, i no longer have that car (traded it) and i want my gold cutty to do what that one did. i lost the dudes number, so i cant ask him what kind of chip was in it.. so im asking, where can i get a performance chip for it?

Hypertech, or Jet are the only two companies that made chips.

I have the Hypertech stage 1 in my 83 Hurst, and had the thermo runner stage 2 in my 86 442.

It's not like an extra 100hp, but more like a fresh tuneup. Go with the stage 2 chip, 160* stat, k&n filter, new 02 sensor, Magnaflow converter, and Hooker Cat-back Dual Exhaust Kit #16810, TCI Trans-Scat Valve Body Kit 2004-R #386000, Hughes deep pan, and trans cooler then enjoy the ride until you pick up an Edelbrock Performer Intake, and go with "5A" heads, Install stock 350 valve's (1.875" Intake and 1.562" exhaust) and polish the ports and combustion chambers and with stock pistons, mill these heads 0.030", for a true 8.7:1 compression ratio, and install a cam like Mondello's RH-14-22 then enjoy it more!

 lol im only going small performance upgrade with this car. the silver one is where all of the goodies are going 😀 but i just wanna spruce up the brown one for now. its a daily, just needs to be quicker... as far as i know, a chip was all the other one had in it, i still have that motor and im sure its bone stock..

I've heard from everybody who had one of those aftermarket chips that they don't do squat. The only thing they do at full throttle is give you a little bit more timing which you can do for free by just bumping the base timing up a couple degrees. These chips simply do not have anywhere near the performance enhancing awesomeness the chips for fuel injected cars of today have.

I don't know what you're running for exhaust but if you're still running the stock crossover setup, you would gain alot more power by getting rid of that and going true duals. Money better spent there than on a chip. The better exhaust would give you better milage too.
