Hi,
so I could potentially get a good deal on some cragar s/s's with tires that are kinda worn but tires no less. Here's the description:
"Staggered front (2) 15X7 and rear(2) 15X8 with Yokohoma 225 60 15 in tires.2 front tires are worn, the rear tires are OK. Lugs, washers and brand new Gorilla wheel locks with key included, also extra Cragar brand lugs. These fit gm lug pattern 5- 4.75 "
will these fit a g-body ok as far as the bolt patterns are concerned, any rubbing with the above profile size, etc. etc/
I have an 86 Cutlass Supreme/Salon
Thank you!

Bolt pattern is correct.

Any rubbing would depend on the backspace and offset of wheels, and ride height of the vehicle. Has it been lowered? How Much?

I have 15x8 with 4" backspacing and fits perfectly.

Tires wouldn't rub, I wouldn't think...

the ride has never been lowered or raised. may not even matter friend, the first thing i'd do is probably change up the tires. and go with something that would guarantee to fit. what are the limits anyway on a g-body if you know off the top of your head. thanks! 😀

and if anybody knows, what does the "offset" mean? and how much does it matter? THANKS

An 8" rim will actually measure 9". The 8" measurement is from bead of the tire to bead of the tire. The lip outside of the rim is what measures 9".

Backspacing is the measurment from the inner flange (lip) of the rim to the mounting hub.

Offset: Use the centerline of the wheel vs the hub mount. Since an 8" wheel actually measures 9", the centerline would be 4.5". If you have a backspace of 4", then it would have .5" negative offset (-.5"). It's the measurement of where the hub mounts to the centerline of the wheel. Positive offset is when the hub is closer to the outside of the car, like a front wheel drive rim.

If the 225's are on the 8" rims, that's kinda small for a rim that size. Not really dangerous, just not the best size. I'd look at some 245's at least. The 225's would be okay on the 7".

The Crager SS's will look great. I had them on my old '82 (R.I.P.) the thing was a rust bucket but when i put those wheels on it drew all the attention away from the body rot. Put some pics up when you get 'em on the car.
