Crank Key & Cam key

So I was searching on mrgasket.com and I came across a crank key and a cam key. The description say its a way to increase HP and torque. Could someone explain what it is and how its used/installed? Thanks

without a part number, i can only guess. but i'm assuming it's an offset key that advances or retards the timing
