Cutlass Console Removal

I have an 1986 Cutlass, and i need to get the console out, how do i remove it? i cant find the the bolts to the floor. it has the console tape holder nsert, im guessing that has to come out first, how is it removed? thanks

first take the shift knob off by putting the car in 1 or L youll see on the fron a lil gap, inside that gap is a staple that can be pried out with a tiny flathead or a knife. then the knob should come right off. then whit the knob on but the staple out and in a place youll remember where it is, shift the car in to "N" and make sure its not going any where(chock the tires or put the parking brake on or both). then the shift plate can be pryed up and off. there are 4 small bolts under there to remove. then lif the lid for the storage and in there are 3 bolts the same size as the others. then carefull lift the console and look for some wiring to disconnect at the terminals so ya dont have to splice anything. and you have just removed the console. good luck. oh and btw, this site isnt just for hocking yer wears, we like to talk about g-bodys too.
