hello everyone!

my name is Andrej,20y/o, i come from Slovenia, Europe and i just bought my first g-body. i never planned on buying a car like this, but it was so cheap i just had to 😀 . it was involved in a light front end colision and lacks the motor, so initially i thought i was gonna part it out. i was thinking of keeping the posi rear end for my 77 malibu classic and selling the rest of the stuff, but when i saw the car i changed my mind and decided i was gonna put it back together.

the previous owner disasembled the dash and had no idea how to put it back together. he was generally really keen on disasembling stuff, and put nothing back together. offcourse he didnt bother marking all the connectors and wires so now im relying on you guys to help me with assembly. i had my dash removed on my malibu before, so im not new to this stuff, i just dont know where some wires connect.

ok so heres the car:

i have a vortec 350 with gm marine roller cam im gonna put in it (330hp and bucketloads of torque until 4500rpm, then it kinda dies). im also thinking about th700r4. rear end has an auburn posi unit, 3.48:1 ratio. it should make a nice cruiser. i dont need a rocket, im planning to do that kind of stuff to the malibu 😀

Welcome aboard Andrej!
How difficult is it to find parts for these cars in your country?

practically impossible. i get everything from US, i just have to wait 2 weeks for the stuff to get here and the shipping quotes can get high. but the funny ting is that the parts are still much cheaper than the ones for european cars, and you have to wait for those too.

So you have a source who you deal with in U.S. Are there any other guys in your country that you know of, that own these type of cars?
I have a friend in Sweden. He's into American cars, and Volvos of course. There's a huge following for American cars in Sweden.
As for GM parts, I think he said parts are readily available there. But speed equipment and specialty parts need to be imported from the States.

most often ill order from ebay or summit racing, but i have a great source up in minnesota who pulls parts off of junked cars. i just tell him what i need and he gets it for me. there is a handful of g bodys here in slovenia, but no 4 doors that i know of. as a matter of fact i imported this one from croatia 😀 im also the owner of the only 3rd gen a-body in the country known to me 😀 but then again, slovenia is a country with 2 million population and obsession for german cars, so that isnt much of an achievement.

i know sweden has a very large us car scene, ive been there in the beginning of this july, attending the power big meet, which is supposed to be the biggest american car meeting in the world. allmost 20 000 cars attended, it was awesome! they do have many american car parts over there, but i havent been able to find a decent site to order from yet. they have a really funny language which makes it much harder 😀
