In the last two years of driving my 1984 Cutlass Calais, I have observed my radio going in and out of Stereo illuminated display as well as the sound on my radio. Has anyone experienced this issue? If it happens to be a radio problem is there anyone that services the radio. The 1984 Cutlass Radio has cassette and equalizer components. I am in the Chicagoland Area, I did not know if FM Stereo Broadcasting has changed where the radio old radios could intermittently receive??

Sounds like the radio needs alignment, as the components age the values of them change making the alignment go bad. To do it your self you will need the numbers off the radio to get the proper documentation for the alignment procedure, and a few tools like a signal generator.
There are places that service these old radios this is one example I have no idea of the quality of their work.
