cutlass speedo wont work

speedo doesnt work on my 81 cutlass v6 its one of the sweep style rthat only goes up to 85 mph any ideas how to fix it

mines dosent work either what could be the cause of this ? i really wanna kno how fast i be going since my 307 seems to be beating 350 camaros...or atleast thats whatthey say they have
