Could a ripped vinyl top cause water to leak into my car?

I don't think so, unless you roof has rust holes in it. Do you have a leak and are trying to track it? If so it will probably be the windshield.

also make sure your vents in front of the windsheild are not clogged with crap. ive had the drain holes in my elky clogged and had to remove the heater fan to get in there and clear out a bunch of leaf litter. what happened was the holes got clogged and the water level rose enough to get into the cabin. its also just a good idea to remove any leaves and pine needles from yer car to prevent moisture getting trapped there and causing rust.

Hmm, that's good to know. I should check mine.

This part of my car was soaking wet but my seats werent wet. The bottom of my passenger rear seat would get water under it when it rained until i put some kind of sealer on the top of the quarter windows
