I am Getting an 85 Cutlass with a 3.8 v6. i was wondering if anyone knew what the transmission and rear end are??

maybe a 200 metric... 7.5" rear end would be my guess

Could Be, ive heard some were posi stock too. and anyone know what the gears are?

Different ratios could be had, but if it wasn't ordered differently, and it's an automatic, it probably has something like a 2.47 rear end....highway axle.

My '82 had a universal bellhousing TH350 & the rear gears calculated out to a 2.41:1- 7.5" when I did my swap. This was also a 3.8L powered car.

2.41! looks like im gonna need a new rear end... thanks for the info! do you know what the hp was like on the 3.8l?

my 84 witha 305 had 2.29s, with th250

The 5.0 V8 back then had around 150 hp. So a 3.8 was probably in the 115 - 125 hp range.
