Dad jsut picked up a 66 Cutlass 442 Conv. We have no doc to prove it is a real 442 all the emblems show same wera as all the other chrome on the car so should be real. Now with no way to prove it the guy he bought it from says 18K origional miles. It is really clean and could be but no way to know for sure. Ran the code on the motor (390925E) and it come up a 66 442 motor so. Take a look at the pics and let me know what you think

Nice! My dad has a 68 442 convertible. Love the 66-69 body styles.

442 was an option on the Cutlass V8 in '66, a 442 convertible second through fifth digits should be 3867. If so it's a real 442, I'd be highly suspect of the 18k miles though, mainly from all the add on junk like the air cleaner. No offense.

Thanks for the advice on the vVIN we will have to check it out. I agree about mileage but it doesn't matter car is clean and straight. Aso the price was great so 18k or 118 k it's all good

Just checked the VIN it is 3867
Cool! Looks like the real deal. I wasn't being an *ss about the actual mileage, just that it's an easy claim on a car that old without wall to wall docs. When I say add on junk, I didn't mean actual junk, it's a term I use in place of stuff sometimes. Meanings get lost in print . Looks like a fun ride.

My dad has a 67 442 convert 4spd. Love that car. He drives that thing everyday in the summer.
