Dash Vent And Heater Control Cable switch - where to mount?

My 86 Monte Carlo SS was converted from AC to heat only, and the previous owner installed these vent cables. Where are they supposed to mount? I can't seem to find pics of heat only setups.

There is a cover for heat only that goes under the column for those.

Hello, unfortunately a lot of the threads that cover this question have photos that are no longer hosted.

Can someone please help me identify which gbody had this type of vent control? I'm adding a heat only box to my Cutlass and need to get a lower dash trim and I can only find trim that the pulls connect to the molded trim piece, nothing that looks like it would fit this style. Thank you.

The under column cover should accept the vent pulls after removing the A/C discharge vent. 2 small screws on the back attach it. Same cover just different parts attached/
