You know I've seen allot of hype about Diesel engines, and I'm just wondering if anybody has built up a diesel Engine in a G-body and how did it turn out? And pics? POST!

I personally think it would be a fun project, and when i get up into PA and settled in, my buddy has a garage where we used to build cars, i plan on either picking up an old truck for about 150$ or a G-body that needs some TLC and doing a diesel build on either, My buddy is like the Metric chassis wizard, he's got every part imaginable, Even the A-arms used for the G-body's in nascar, And an *ss-load of other aluminum parts, so any input or idea's would be cool.

Again im just brain storming, this wouldn't all be for a few months.

if you want to go truly unique....look for some of the european diesels. they're mostly v6's but can still put out 300hp with minor changes.
the new audi is a v10 tdi and I WANT IT!!!!!

The Audi V10 diesel is probably the same one as is in the VW Touareg. Seeing as most of what is VW is platform shared with the company's other makes ( Seat, Audi, Porsche (soon...), Bugatti, Dacia, Bentley, etc.) it makes sense that it is used in something else. I think that only Bugatti has only a proprietary platform in VW group- and that's the Veyron.

(Bad news! The Dacia Sandero is not coming to the US market.)

theres a huge difference in the tune from the toureag and the audi tdi. the audi is getting the F! race engine, slightly down tuned from the full race version.

I think dollar for dollar you would be batter off with a LSX and turbo

engine/trans for a diesel is way high in price if you get one that makes good power

i used to work for cummins building the 11 and 15 liter truck engines so i am partial on the cummins turbo diesel. i love them!!!
