I know this isn't the forum for this, I think I'm gonna have to join a diesel forum... But anyway I've recently gotten onto this obsession with diesel trucks I've had a few and I want more, I want to go way bigger than what me or my brother have had so far. I'm gonna get my question in quick before I ramble... If anyone here works on diesels or has a big truck with an International DT466 in it I was wondering if you know the length of the engine or could pull out your tape measure and measure it. I found specs online that say the height is 37 inches, width 29 inches, and length of 45 inches... I was wondering if the length is with the fan included. If that's with the fan included that makes it only 6 inches longer than a 5.9 Cummins but if that's without the fan then I don't think this is possible. And is the height from the bottom of the pan to the top of the valve cover or if that's with the turbo pipe running over the top of the valve cover.

I've got a 95 Ford F250 powerstroke and I've had a couple other ones and a 6.9L IDI Ford... And my brother has had a bunch of them too. All Fords, what I really want a Cummins 12v but all the trucks I've been finding are either totally completely beat to death, or they're 6 grand and up even for early 90's trucks with over 250,000 miles. So I have been thinking about going out and building my own truck, I see a lot of very nice gas trucks with blown up engines... And a lot of cheap rebuildable or good running engines for sale. So I got the idea hey why not put 2 and 2 together? Anyway that's when I stopped being practical (as usual) and I got the idea to put a DT466 (inline 6 cyl 7.6 liter medium duty turbo diesel) into a pickup truck after seeing a few tractor pull trucks running them. I'm trying to figure if it's feasible to even fit one in a pickup... With just moving the radiator a couple inches forward, recessing the firewall a few inches, and maybe a mild 2 inch body lift. The ones I've seen all had the radiator moved to the bed, but they don't look like they're moved back into the firewall much if at all. I think you could set the engine back at least 5-6 inches further in, and with the body lift, and moving the radiator inside or to the front of the core support you gain at least 4-7 inches which with those put together in my mind makes up the extra 6 inches of length over the cummins, and 10 inches of length over the 7.3 Powerstroke.

I'd like to keep the radiator up front, I know this swap "can" be done... I want to know if it can be done without moving the radiator to the bed. So that's why I'm asking about the length of the engine if any of you have one that could be measured.
