I have a line on a rebuilt carrier from what is supposedly an 8.5 rear from a 70s Chevelle. The guy had it rebuilt but found out the hard way it wouldnt fit in his 7.5 housing 
My question is, if this is from a Chevelle will it work in a gbody 8.5 housing? Im having the guy get whatever numbers there are on the unit itself so I can look them up to see what it is truly out of. I know there was 8.2s, 8.5s and 8.625s so I gotta make sure. Any ideas? Thanks
