guys, 78 monte will have wilwood rear disks and the blazer 2 caliper front setup. Bought the correct new proportioning valve. I haven't read anywhere if I need one of those "in-line" valve dials? Thanks.

yes, what I'm using looks like this pic. now you can buy these from eBay and others.

If you have the disc/disc proportioning valve you would not necessarily need an adjustable in line valve but for me I would install one anyways so you can fine tune the adjustment to your liking and it will help if you run different size tires like taller ones in the rear for traction etc.
By the way I have Wilwood's knob style adjustable valve on my car mounted to the frame just before the rear tire.

565, correct... Thanks.. I have 275's out back 235x60 in front.... I'll buy the wildwood piece you have pictured here. Having never done this, what will I need to do this job since I'll be cutting the brake line somewhere on the frame area?. Thanks man, always a big help.

Just find a suitable mounting area that gives you enough access to get the rear brake line out far enough to re double flare it (unless you are making new lines) and give yourself enough play in the line so you won't be fighting getting each one in the valve and mount it leaving enough room to be able to turn the knob.
I mounted mine with the knob down and it hangs below the frame for easy access but you can't see mine because of the ground effects
You can drill and tap for the mounting bolts or you can bolt it on if your mounting location has access to put nuts on it.

How would you go about knowing how to set the proportioning valve? Full closed and open a little at a time? How do you know when to stop. I'm planning something similar but have no idea how figure out how to set it?
