Soon I will be dropping a small block Buick into my 1985 regal with the 231 cubic inch v6 and I was wondering how hard it would be to hook up the new ignition system and what parts I would need for the v8. any help is appreciated thanks. right now I have the original HEI distributor for the V8 and the ignition system in the regal is still intact if that matters. The engine is from '77.

The power supply for the V6 cap (pink wire I think) plugs right into the V8 cap.
Now's a good time to replace the cap and rotor, but the coil should be ok.
It plugs right in. Just leave your vacuum supply where it is and you're good to go.
