Do harmonic balancers go bad at 54k mi? How can I tell?

I'm trying to find the source of a very light vibration. Could it be the harmonic balancer? I just tuned it up with new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil. How do I know if the harmonic balancer is bad? Could a bad MAP sensor be the cause?
