That should be an L-82 engine about 210 HP - the 7.5 should handle that as long as you don't get crazy. What you need to think about is matching your total package (intake-cam-covertor-rear gears) for what you want to do. That engine can make a lot of power. I wouldn't invest any money in that 7.5 unless your staying low BHP.
 
Kind of a vague question, really. You could have an L-48 (180hp) too. Maybe less than that if it's tired and has mismatched parts added. On the other hand it could have a nicely matched top-end kit and be in the 400hp range. You didn't really specify. You also didn't really say how you're going to be treating it. There's a big difference between just cruising and bolting on slicks and trying to lift the front tires at the track. So, to answer your, "do I need a new differential with this?" question. No, you don't need it.
 
youll be fine, did way worse with mine!!
 
You'll need new 28 spline axles to work with that. Your car has 26 spline.
