Wiring up an electric fan and had two questions. Based on the instructions that came with my kit I need to run one of the wires from my relay to the ac. It can also be run to a toggle switch I believe. Is it mandatory that this wire be connected for the relay to function properly? Also is there a readily available switched 12v or should I run a new wire directly from the fuse box?

id say wire it to the a/c switch so when ya turn on the a/c it also turns on the fan. but thats just me, theres prolly a better way to do it.

I would use a 40 amp relay that way the fan gets full battery power(they pull alot of amps at start up) and then you can use any style or amp toggle switch or a thermal switch to turn it on. I have a dual fan set up and a separate relays for both hi and low speeds and a thermal switch to turn them on and off and I also always wire in a manual override switch as a safety feature.

I have the fan wired through a 40 amp relay with a thermal switch to cut it on/off. There was a green wire that goes to the ac to cut the fan on automatically when the ac is powered on. I'll wire it to a switch for manual override just to be safe. Thanks everyone.
