anybody have any pros or cons with the Eastwood brand?? I do have a decent hookup on a Lincoln welder but it's about the same price for the combo.. The 3yr warranty and free shipping sounds good as well!. I would just do basic weekend warrior welding...

thanks started to read the first page will go back and read the rest..hopefully it's good reviews and experiences.

They sure look like my lincoln,I got mine at a pawn shop here with a cart and a full bottle of mixed gas,and a self darking helmet.

According to the link I posted this is a clean sheet design developed in-house. They did sell another welder before that was someone else's though. I don't really know that much about them. The reason I posted the link was because there was lot's of questions answered directly from an Eastwood rep. I will agree that typically their products are relabeled and overpriced.

Get a Miller or Lincoln. You should be able to find ones from these guys in the same price neighborhood. You will not pay the price for another companies re badged stuff.

I was looking at their TIG welder a while back as they just kept lowering the price. Was kind of odd and I'm guessing not too many people were buying them.

I came close to giving it a try but at the end of the day, I paid a little more and bought a Hobart EZ TIG. The biggest reason is that I know where it's made. About 40 miles from where I live so it helps the local economy.

There are certain tools that I don't mind spending next to nothing on but anything that I plan to keep and use a LOT I try to buy the best I can afford.

I've never owned a Miller but used to use one of their TIG's at local restaurant equipment manufacturer during summer break. They were nice machines of course obviously big professional machines that were likely $5000 plus.

I've owned a Lincoln Weld Pak 100 with a gas conversion for close to 8 years and it's been a work horse. Great little machine.

My first Hobart machine was a Plasma cutter and it's been a great tool as well.

So for the Hobart EZ TIG has been a great machine. So much so that I rarely pull the MIG welder out anymore.

I got a open box Mig 135 from Northern Tool for $240 a few years ago and I've welded a ton of crap with it. Even 3/16 steel when I was making my traction bars for my truck. Learned to weld off YouTube. Got a 40 mig bottle on Craigs for $100. I'll have to look into that EZ tig. Really want to learn tig soon

I used a older Hobart 180 i believe and wasn't really impressed with it..... felt cheap. I use Lincolns and Millers welders at work and the Lincoln usually works real nice and the Miller is specifically set-up for aluminum and also works good. I can't remember which specific Lincoln welder i have a deal on but it is a 220v and setup for gas.. BUT me being cheap was exploring my options..
