This guy obviously has NO idea what his part fits. It's for a BIG car, B/C/D body V8. NOT the G-body. Different length and no rub shield on the hose. This one is more of a synthetic fabric where the G-body one is all plastic. This isn't correct for a G-body, so if you're bidding on this hoping the seller knows what he has- Don't.

This is p/n 22505348. The G-body uses 22505354. Make sure to check. I've already told this guy before his ad was for a big car, but he obviously thinks he knows more than he actually does.

Makes one wonder how with all those listings of claiming it fits something but in reality doesn't how Ebay can have that "Guarenteed Fit" offer when most parts won't fit.
Just have to do your due diligence and make sure yourself of what you're trying to buy.

Times have changed. Probably ten years ago, someone had a bumper bracket listed for a 1973 Century/Regal. IIRC, it was listed for the rear and it was actually for the front. I wasn't interested in the part, but I messaged him and told him about the incorrect listing. He messaged me back and thanked me.

I have tried to help sellers "correct" their listings. I wasn't trying to be a d*ck about it, but just letting them know that people would likely not give good feedback on selling them stuff that wasn't going to fit their car. Most people just didn't know and were thankful for the constructive feedback. If you want to help the hobby, sometimes you have to let people know of any issues. I could stay silent and let the people waste time buy buying the wrong stuff, I guess. But I hate to see people get hosed over. There are some sellers who obviously knew more than anyone else in this world and told me to fugg off. And some are still trying to sell their junk nobody will buy. Worthless a-holes.

This 'cold air intake' came off my 260. It had a literal rat's nest in it and associated gnawed hole in it. No part number.
To be honest, looks like seller's part would fit. I'd give him $5 for it. Maybe he updated the listing, because it does not call out g-body specifically (at least not when I looked at it).

It certainly can get confusing sometimes. However, the A-body from 1980 up with an Olds gas V8 I know uses the 5354 part number. The one in the ad seems a tad longer than yours (counted the ribs). Probably the only real difference. You could buy it, trim off what you didn't need and staple it back to the adapter to the air cleaner snout. I dunno. Just an idea. Or just not extend it out.

The 80-88 gas V8 looks like this:

The hose is flattened a bit where it squeezes by the alternator instead of having the wear plate stapled to it. There's a scoop that is bolted to the side of the rad support that it clips onto.

You can still buy a 5354 adapter hose if anyone needs one. They're like, unobtanium.

Huh, how about that. I have one of those 5348s in my parts stash...maybe I'll dig it up and do a comparison to a 5354.
