I finally got my new 80 Malibu home, and to my surprise it had the 229 Chevy v6. I was expecting the 231 buick. Anyway, this engine is a small block missing 2 cylinders. It has all the accessories up front to swap right to the small block. How could I not just go small block instead of the big block I planned? But my question is, will a victor jr with a 1" spacer fit under the stock hood? It has a really bad 2" fiberglass cowl hood on it that needs to go. SO I was thinking either stock, or a 2" steel hood.

To answerer your question YES - I will try to find a pic and can measure hood clearance if you want.
